Chiropractic Care

What Is Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is a drug free non-surgical approach to healing and wellness. Chiropractic care restores health and prevents injury by improving the structural integrity of the body, primarily the spine. The brain communicates with the rest of the body via the spinal cord and nervous system. When functioning perfectly this communication is uninterrupted and messages go to and from the brain without interruption and the body will have 100% function.

At Parkway Family Chiropractic we focus on the nervous system and adjust the vertebral column to affect it. The Nervous System includes the brain, spinal cord and the spinal nerves to serve the organs, tissues, blood vessels and muscles. The chiropractic adjustment removes any disruptions or distortions of this energy flow that may be caused by slight vertebral misalignment called subluxations. At PFC we are trained to locate these subluxations and then to remove them to restore the normal flow of nerve energy. Prepare to have your power turned on!

 Why We Are Different

What we do here at Parkway Family Chiropractic is very UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT.
One reason the health and well-being of the public suffers today is that most people do not truly understand what health really is. Therefore, that which they believe cannot possibly be true, and that which they do for their health cannot completely work. Only through understanding what health really is can you actually create the right wellness philosophy and look for what really are the correct lifestyle approaches.

Our Techniques

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting                approaches to help improve spinal                         bio mechanics and reduce nervous system interference.
The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience.
Including: Diversified, Activator, Thompson, Cranial, Websters Technique and Extremities

How Can We Help You Reach Your Health Care Goals?

We offer state of the art technology and techniques to give you the best all around personalized care there is!

We offer a wide range of services to meet every type of need.
At Parkway Family Chiropractic, we utilize an advanced chiropractic technology that scans your spine and delivers a computerized image of the stress and tension to your nervous system. Three different technologies give us (and you) an objective assessment:

Surface EMG
Surface Electromyography measures the minute amounts of electrical energy in the muscles along your spine. Subluxations disturb the function of the nervous system. This can produce too much or too little electrical activity in your muscles. We use this highly-accurate, non-invasive scan to document your progress. It’s more accurate than how you feel.

Thermal Scan and Heart Rate Variability
As you’d expect, this measures temperature. When there are disturbances to your nervous system along the spine, there are often temperature differences from side to side. This is due to inflammation and changes in blood flow. Our thermal scan is non-invasive and reveals the condition of your autonomic nervous system controlling your organs, glands and circulatory system.

TMJ

We treat TMJ Trigger Points, utilizing myofascial therapy, which includes very gentle stretching and light muscle pressure to release the tight and painful muscle fibers.

Unlike other types of treatment that "dig" or 'Push" on the actual tender knots, our focus is on treating the muscle tissues that surround the spasm.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression Therapy is an FDA approved alternative to Surgery for the following painful neck and back conditions:

  • Herniated Discs
  • Bulging Discs
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Sciatic leg pain
  • Arm Pain, Numbness or Tingling

Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. Its based on the theory that energy, called Chi (say chee). Flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians.

 How it Works?

Acupuncture seeks to release the flow of the body's vital energy or "chi" by stimulating points along the 14 energy pathways. Scientists say the needles cause the body to release endorphins -natural pain killers-and may boost blood flow and change brain activity.

Is it Painful?

Acupuncture needles are very thin and most people feel no pain or very little pain when they are inserted. They often say they feel energized or relaxed after the treatments.
